Cleanroom Safety and Protocol


  1. Acid Safety
  2. The acid safety section provides information on the proper handling, disposal, storage and use of acids. Specific hazard and incompatibility information is given for both acids and bases used in the cleanroom.
  3. HF Safety
  4. This section contains instructions about handling and storing Hydrofluoric acid.
  5. Solvent Safety
  6. The solvent safety section provides information on the proper handling, disposal, storage and use of solvents. Specific hazard and incompatibility information is given for common cleanroom solvents.
  7. Emergency Contact
  8. Provides a list of names and numbers to call if an accident occurs.
  9. Housekeeping and Cleanroom Etiquette
  10. Provides instruction for expected cleanroom behavior including cleaning, labeling, cleanroom night-time shut down procedures, morning start up procedures, and guidelines for specific equipment and materials.
  11. Material Data Safety Sheets (MSDS)
  12. Provides links that give and explain MSDS information.
  13. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  14. Describes what should be worn for protection in the cleanroom and when. The largest section focuses on what gloves are suitible for particular chemicals.
  15. Fire Safety
  16. Provides basic fire safety information.
  17. First Aid
  18. The first aid section describes what should be done when injury occurs in the cleanroom.
  19. The NFPA Diamond
  20. This section explains what the numbers in each diamond of the NFPA diamond represent and gives other common hazard symbols.
  21. Gowning
  22. This section contains instructions and examples of how to dress to work in the cleanroom.
  23. Gloves in the Cleanroom
  24. This section contains information on glove properties in the cleanroom.
  25. Safety Tutorials and Tests
  26. This section contains safety tutorials and tests. (Detailed explaination coming soon)
